It all began in 1957 when the founder of Manitou, Marcel Braud, invented the world’s first rough terrain fork lift truck, based on a standard farm tractor. Manitou Southern Africa was officially established in 1997, although the Manitou brand has had a presence in South Africa for well over 40 years.
